Engineer by Passion
I'm Felix Schmidt, a Senior Software Engineer based in Switzerland with 15 years of experience. I build software for millions of people — from the Corona-Warn-App to banking and insurance apps across the DACH region. With experience and a passion for the craft, I turn your idea into production-ready software.
The Transformer
2024 changed how I work. After 15 years building software for millions of users in insurance, healthcare, and banking, I started building with AI agents instead of writing every line myself — and it reshaped my whole practice. Today I build agentic AI systems: multi-agent orchestration, RAG pipelines, MCP configurations, guardrails at production scale. I still ship enterprise frontends in Angular when that's the right tool — the AI shift changed how fast I build, not what I know. I also advise engineering leaders on rolling out coding agents without losing code quality.
The Scaler
I took on the most demanding projects of my career: the Corona-Warn-App (38M+ users at peak, open source, GDPR-compliant national infrastructure), comdirect banking app (1M+ users, security-critical), and SAP KulturPass (1M+ users, federal government initiative). I learned what it means to build software at national scale — and what it demands in terms of quality, compliance, and engineering discipline.
The Builder
I transitioned into software development and spent nearly a decade building native iOS applications for some of Germany's largest enterprises. Allianz, Die Techniker (TK), DAK-Gesundheit, T-Systems — complex, compliance-heavy, mission-critical apps used by millions. This is where I built deep expertise in regulated industries: GDPR compliance, accessibility, enterprise architecture, and shipping under real constraints. In parallel, I completed a four-year Bachelor's degree in Business Computer Science at FOM University alongside my full-time role at Allianz — graduating as valedictorian.
The Foundation
I started my career at PwC, working in IT infrastructure, system administration, and data center operations across European locations. I learned the fundamentals of enterprise IT from the inside — reliability, compliance, and the weight of systems that real organizations depend on. During this time I completed my IT apprenticeship (Fachinformatiker Systemintegration) at Werner-von-Siemens-Schule Frankfurt.
