The Challenge

Die Techniker, Germany's largest public health insurance provider, needed to build a pioneering electronic health record (ePA) solution compliant with the Gematik telematics infrastructure. The project required integrating complex healthcare data standards (FHIR/HL7) into a consumer-friendly mobile experience while meeting stringent German healthcare data protection requirements and the technical specifications mandated by Gematik.

The Approach

Developed core iOS components for the TK-Safe electronic health record within a large cross-functional team. Implemented FHIR-compliant data models and integrated the Gematik SDK for secure communication with the telematics infrastructure. Built intuitive interfaces for document management, prescription tracking, and health data visualization using UIKit, ensuring accessibility and ease of use for a diverse user base.
